What is Triclosan ?
Triclosan (also known as Microban) is a powerful anti-microbial agent.
There are fears that triclosan residues in waste water are damaging aquatic eco-systems and may also react with chlorine in tap water to produce highly toxic dioxins which can affect hormone production.
Triclosan may also cause allergies and perhaps more alarmingly is implicated in the increase in antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as MRSA.
