What are Humectants ?
Humectants are compounds which draw and hold onto moisture from anything around them and are mainly used in skin creams.
They can be sourced from animals in the form of Keratin, Collagen and Elastin. They can be sourced from plants in the form of glycerine and lecithin or they could be of synthetic origin such as propylene glycol which has been found to cause irritation in some people.
