What are Paraben free cosmetics ?

You can buy several paraben free cosmetics and products including paraben free shampoo, paraben free cream and paraben free lotion.  Parabens are chemicals that are often used as preservatives in cosmetics and beauty products.  There are several different parabens that you may encounter in everyday Beauty Products, these are methyl-paraben, propyl-paraben, butyl-paraben and ethyl-paraben and the type used in cosmetics are synthesised (not naturally occurring).

They should be avoided as they can disrupt hormone levels and may be implicated in other serious health problems. 

Parabens have also been demonstrated to make skin cells more vulnerable to ultra-violet radiation.
